They say the knees are the first to go. I’m not sure that is true since I see so many patients of all ages with all types of musculoskeletal pain that heal from Prolotherapy treatment.
Nevertheless, not a day goes by that I don’t treat knee problems, and patients seeking knee pain relief . It doesn’t seem to matter what the patient’s knee diagnosis is in order for knee Prolotherapy to work.
Prolotherapy injections have been instrumental in avoidance of needless knee surgeries in my Los Angeles clinic. Many of my patients have already had one or two or three knee surgeries by the time they see me in hopes of avoiding a knee replacement.

One of our Prolotherapy patients was the former UCLA star and NFL Dolphin’s football player, Abdul-Karim Al-Jabbar who had four knee surgeries for meniscal tears. When Al-Jabbar arrived in my office, his knee had been chronically swollen.
Commenting on his knee pain, Al-Jabbar stated, “I knew my knee was a mess, but after the first Prolotherapy injection, it was like a miracle. I had swelling in my knee for ten years, and within a within a week the swelling was gone and the knee pain hasn’t returned.”
Specific to Prolotherapy, Al-Jabbar stated, “Obviously, if I would have known about Prolotherapy before all the surgeries, I definitely would have had the injections instead.” Read more
